Training video production

How an operations team turned written procedures into presenter-led training videos for employees and site visitors, with a version for every site and audience.

Company profile

A South African operation with several sites, each with its own induction and safety requirements for employees, contractors and visitors, documented as written procedures.

The challenge

Procedures changed faster than the training that taught them. Producing a video the usual way meant a crew, a presenter and weeks of turnaround for each site, so most training stayed on paper and most sites shared one generic version.

The audit

A High Risers engineer embedded with the operations and training team and mapped how a procedure got from a document to a person on site: who wrote it, who approved it, how it reached employees and visitors, and how long each step took.

The map showed that the content already existed; the bottleneck was production and review.

The architecture

  • Script agent

Turns an approved procedure into a presenter script in the right register for the audience, with the site-specific details in place.

    • Scripts generated from your procedures
    • Site and audience variants
  • Production pipeline

Produces the presenter-led video from the approved script, with a review and approval step before anything is released, and a version per site and audience.

    • Presenter-led video production
    • Review and approval before release
    • Versions per site and audience

Implementation

Built as a pipeline the training team runs themselves, from procedure to released video, with the approval step kept with the people responsible for the content.

What changed

A procedure change becomes a training update in the same cycle, and each site gets its own version instead of a shared generic one.
